Jaheim Appreciation Concert Recap

Jaheim Appreciation Concert Recap

A few days ago I joined two friends to see Jaheim along with Chrisette Michele at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City for his Appreciation Tour Concert.

Chrisette Michele

I’m a huge Chrisette Michele fan. When she came on stage, she briefly spoke of her love of ‘being back home’ in NYC. Along with two backup singers over a track, Chrisette sang hits such as “Epiphany (I’m Leaving)” as well as “Blame it on Me” and “What You Do”. The lack of a band was not an issue to the crowd because of her beautiful voice. She sang new songs from her current album Better such as “Supa”, “Charades”, concluding with “A Couple of Forevers”.

Headlining artist Jaheim shortly came to the stage after an intro highlighting his musical career played discussing album and career successes. He performed several hits from albums including “Ain’t Leavin Without You”, “Could It Be”, “Anything” and “Put That Woman First”.  From the Appreciation Day album, he performed “Baby X3” and got the older women excited with “Age Ain’t a Factor”.

Continuing with the “grown and sexy” theme, after a music interlude he took the audience back with Luther Vandross’ “A House is not a Home” and Teddy Pendergrass’ “Close the Door” eventually moving forward to sing his new single “Chase Forever”. Towards the end of the night, he pleased ladies with his crowd walk performance of “P**** Appreciation Day” having them run from all angles of the venue to grab a touch or picture. Jaheim ended the night with “Just In Case”, rewarding audience members with signed posters clothing and other memorabilia.

Although I wasn’t familiar with many of the newer songs, I still enjoyed myself. There were no special dance moves, but my company, the music, and Jaheim’s talented voice were enough enjoyed the night.
Are you a Jaheim fan? Did you attend his Appreciation Concert?
