Since I’ve been bored in the house, I decided to play around with my hair and rediscover some natural hair products. Jane Carter’s Curls to Go line had a recent buy two, get one free sale at Walgreens so I decided to buy. The products were formulated with ladies that have curly and coily hair in mind so today I’m sharing quick styles you can do and my full review of the Jane Carter Solution Curls to Go line.
About Jane Carter Hair Products
Jane Carter Solution was one of the first natural hair brands I’ve tried since starting my natural hair journey. In fact, Jane Carter’s hair products have been around since 1992. The products are created for ALL hair types no matter the curl pattern or porosity. Their goal is to “help you simplify your hair care routine and love the hair you wear.”
About Jane Carter Solution Curls to Go Collection
The Curls to Go line from Jane Carter Solution was created specifically for super kinky, curly, and coily natural hair and aims to create gorgeous, long-lasting, frizz-free curls, every time. You may remember I did an Instagram Takeover with Kory of Smart Sagitarrius and Kat from Simply Katricia back when we were Type 4 Naturals. Products included in the Curls to Go line include the Curl Drench Cleansing Co-Wash, Un-Tangle Me Weightless Leave-In Conditioner, Coiling All Curls Elongating Gel, Curl Cocktail Conditioning Styling Cream, Shine On Curl Elixir, and Mist Me Over Curl Hydrator. Here’s my full Jane Carter Curls to Go review.
Curl Drench Cleansing Co-Wash
The Jane Carter Curls To Go Curl Drench Co Wash contains ingredients like Jojoba Oil & Restorative Botanicals and is formulated to cleanse condition, and hydrate hair. The 2 in 1 sulfate-free formula releases hydrating doses of essential conditioning ingredients and nourishes the scalp and hair without stripping away its natural oils. After wetting my hair in the shower, I applied the Curls to Go Curl Drench Co Wash to my hair and it started working INSTANTLY. The co wash left my hair soft and more manageable as I was able to easily finger detangle and has become one of my favorite rotating co-washes. For best results, rinse your hair with warm water for 3-5 mins first, apply the cowash, and detangle with your fingers followed by a paddle brush or wide-tooth comb. For optimal conditioning, you can let the product sit on your hair for 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
Untangle Me Leave-In Weightless Leave-In Conditioner
The Untangle Me Weightless Leave-In contains ingredients like Mango Butter, Slippery Elm, and Marshmallow Root. This formula helps reduce frizz, hydrates, and detangles the hair. Just like the name, this leave-in is truly weightless and doesn’t leave the hair heavy. For best results, apply the product after cleansing and use a paddle brush or wide-tooth comb to detangle. The Untangle Me Weightless Leave-In is another product within this line that has been on rotation as one of my favorite leave-in conditioners. I even made sure to get an extra bottle for the sale.
Coiling All Curls Elongating Gel
The Coiling All Curls Elongating Gel is made with nettle leaf extract, aloe vera gel, and coconut oil. If you’re a fan of wash and go styles, this product is for you. When I first used the elongating gel, I layered it after applying the weightless leave-in and used a Denman brush to clump the curls. You can let the products air dry or use a diffuser to dry your hair when done.
Curl Cocktail Conditioning Styling Cream
If you’re not a fan of wash and go styles, the Curls to Go line had the Curl Cocktail Conditioning Styling Cream. This product contains shea butter, coconut oil, and aloe leaf extract and claims to define curls, reduce frizz, and smooth the hair. I usually use the styling cream for twist-outs, braid-outs, or protective styling my own hair. Some people also use it to refresh and remoisturize old hairstyles.
Shine On Curl Elixir
The Shine On Curl Elixer has multiple uses. It helps control frizz when taking down twisted or braided styles and adds shine to dry and dull curly hair. The argan, aloe vera gel, and macadamia oil ingredients make the Curl Elixer great for moisture retention and pre-pooing. I usually use the oil in the L.O.C. Method step of my hair regimen or when refreshing an old style.
Mist Me Over Curl Hydrator
Made with Shea Butter, Sage, Nettle, and Rosemary, the Mist Me Over Curl Hydrator is great for refreshing and reactivating curls. It is great for daily use as these natural glycerides help moisturize dry hair. I usually bring along the Curl Hydrator on short trips by pouring it into a TSA-approved container.
Wash and Go with Jane Carter Curls to Go
With the exception of the Mist Me Over Curl Hydrator, in this video, I used all the products from the Jane Carter Curls to Go line to create this super-defined summer wash and go. See the full demo below.
