As a longtime follower of her blog and Youtube channel, I was excited to be at Jenell B Stewart for her Healthy Living Tour Kickoff at the Houndstooth Pub in NYC.

There was a 4-women panel that included Shea Moisture Beauty Ambassador, Diane C. Bailey, Dr. Seanna-Kaye Denham of, Natalege Whaley of, and of course Jenell Stewart. The overall theme for this event was Mind, Body, and Hair. Panelists spoke on dating, seeking professional mental help & hair tips for new and existing naturals. I liked that even though there was a panel, audience members were allowed to have their input on the different topics.

I purchased a blue, tan and pink printed maxi dress not too long before from Marshall’s and paired it with blue wedges I bought last summer from Old Navy.

Coincidentally, I wore my hair in a twisted bun, inspired by a protective style Jenell did on her YouTube channel, and left 2-3 twists out in the front. After spritzing with water and finger detangling, I used Paul Mitchell The Conditioner, sealed with vitamin E oil and twisted with the As I Am Twist Defining Cream. I finished the look using bobby pins to section the twists to the crown of my head.

On a regular day, I don’t do a full face of makeup for work. I’m not seen by any customers and it takes up a lot of time to do every day. I used the following:
Moisturizer|EyelinerMascara | Lipgloss

This was an overall fun event, great for networking and interacting with fellow naturals.
