Delfins Beach Resort Bonaire Review: A Laid-Back Beachfront Stay
Delfins Beach Resort Bonaire, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a modern, design-forward beachfront hotel that blends barefoot luxury with Bonaire’s relaxed pace. Located on the calmer side of the island, this Hilton-affiliated property is perfect if you want beachfront access and a quiet place to truly unwind.
I booked my stay about a month in advance for my annual birthday trip to the Caribbean and spent most of my time on the property, using it as a base before wrapping up my trip with a full island tour. If you’re looking for a resort that lets you slow down without sacrificing comfort or style, Delfins Beach Resort Bonaire is a good choice.
This hotel is great for solo travelers, couples, and low-key girls’ trips who want a resort feel without an all-inclusive setup.

Things to Know Before Booking
- Transportation: Budget for taxis or the hotel shuttle ($20 each way) or rent a car
- Best Rooms: Studio rooms for short stays; kitchen units for longer trips
- Island Facts: All beaches in Bonaire are public, and much of the island is protected land
- Best Time to Visit: Bonaire sits outside the hurricane belt, making it a reliable year-round destination
- Exploring: If you want context beyond the resort, a full island tour is a great way to understand Bonaire’s history, geography, and culture
Location
Delfins Beach Resort is located on the southwest coast of Bonaire, just south of Kralendijk, the island’s main town. The resort is approximately 10 minutes (about 4 miles) from Flamingo International Airport (BON), making arrival quick and painless.
While the hotel sits directly on the water, it’s not in the middle of nightlife or shopping areas. Most attractions, dive sites, and restaurants are a short drive away, so this is not a walk-everywhere destination. I paid $20 each way for the hotel shuttle, which was convenient, but if you plan to explore the island beyond the resort, renting a car is your best option.

Check-In Experience
Check-in at Delfins Beach Resort was friendly and efficient. I arrived early, and the staff kindly held my luggage, allowing me to change and start using the resort amenities right away, which is a huge plus after an early flight. The front desk agent gave me a quick overview of the property, highlighting the pool, beach access, and on-site restaurants, which made navigating the resort easy.
I spent the morning lounging by the pool and grabbed a bite at one of the on-site restaurants, enjoying the relaxed, modern Caribbean vibe. The staff was professional, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making my early arrival feel seamless.

Rooms & Accommodations
I stayed in a 1 King Bed Studio Room, which felt spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The décor leaned toward a modern Caribbean style, with neutral tones, natural textures, and subtle island touches that made the space feel intentional. As a nice surprise, the staff decorated my room for my birthday, adding a personal touch and making the experience even more memorable.
The room featured:
- A comfortable king-size bed
- A sleek bathroom
- Storage for luggage and longer stays
- An outdoor patio perfect for slow mornings or winding down at night
Noise was minimal, the room was spotless, and everything felt well-maintained. This room type works especially well for solo travelers or couples who plan to spend their days outdoors and their nights resting comfortably.
What I Loved About the Room
- The clean, airy aesthetic
- Comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere
- Ideal layout for a relaxed, resort-focused stay
What Could Be Better
- If you plan to cook often, upgrading to a room with a full kitchen may be worth it

Amenities & Activities
Delfins shines in on-site amenities. Since I spent most of my trip at the resort, this really mattered. Highlights include:
- Direct beach access with loungers
- Pool areas with plenty of seating
- On-site dive facilities (Bonaire has over 80 dive sites, after all)
- Easy access to snorkeling and water activities
- A gym and wellness offerings for slower, intentional days
Bonaire itself is known for being made largely of coral, and the island has strict building regulations, no buildings over four floors, which adds to the open, uncrowded feel of the resort.

On-Site Dining
Delfins Beach Resort offers on-site dining options, making it easy to enjoy meals without leaving the property. As a Hilton Gold Member, I ate breakfast every day at the resort, which was always fresh and satisfying. For my first lunch, I ate at BBQ at the Beach, and in the evenings, I had dinner at the Beach Brasserie. Late nights called for ice cream at Café Koló, which was the perfect sweet treat after a day in the sun.
Portions were generous, and the cocktails were consistently good, making dining here both convenient and enjoyable. While Bonaire has a growing food scene beyond the resort, these on-site options make it easy to spend most of your time relaxing by the pool or on the beach without worrying about where to eat.

Service & Staff Experience
Service throughout my stay was consistently professional. Staff were attentive without hovering, and I felt comfortable as a solo traveler.
The Front desk staff was helpful with transportation coordination, and the overall hospitality vibe felt genuinely welcoming, which is something Caribbean properties don’t always get right.
Staff Experience Rating: 9/10
Overall Rating: 8.8/10
Delfins Beach Resort Bonaire is a great choice if you want a peaceful resort experience on an island that prioritizes nature, sustainability, and slow travel. The best part of my stay was how easy it was to truly relax. There were no crowds and no pressure to pack my itinerary, and I had the space to enjoy the moment.
I’d absolutely stay here again for another reset-style trip.
