Need an idea of what to do in Wynwood, Miami? Returning from our Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas, my sister and I had time to kill before going home, so we visited the Wynwood Arts District. With her being a photographer and me wanting to visit since Blogalicious weekend, it was the perfect place for us to meet up with my friend, who was also in Miami for the weekend. If you’re planning a trip to Miami, here are some fun things to do in Wynwood.
About Wynwood
Wynwood, located north of downtown Miami in the heart of the Greater Miami Area. Once an industrial area, it has transformed into a cultural hub with art galleries, trendy shops, and unique dining experiences. The area hosts the monthly Wynwood Art Walk, attracting locals and tourists to explore its art, music, and food scenes.
Wynwood is also home to the Museum of Graffiti, numerous breweries, and shops, making it a must-visit destination for those looking to experience Miami’s creative and eclectic side.
Best Time to Visit Wynwood
The best time to visit Wynwood Miami is from November to March. This is when the weather is comfortable for walking around and exploring the main attractions. If you’re visiting for the first time, consider taking a walking tour with a knowledgeable tour guide who can give you insights into the history and art of the area.

Getting Around Wynwood
Wynwood is easy to navigate, and there are several transportation options available. Street parking is available, though it can get crowded, especially on weekends. Public transportation is also a good option, with buses running through the area.
If you’re flying in, the Miami International Airport is the closest major airport. For those looking for a unique mode of transport, consider renting a bike or scooter to explore the neighborhood at your own pace. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the street art and local culture.

Take a Photo Walk
A photo walk through Wynwood along NW 2nd Ave and NW 26th St, offers a unique experience where every corner is an opportunity for the perfect shot. The cool thing is most of the buildings within the area have graffiti murals. If you love taking photos of and with street art, this is the place for you. By the end of the trip, my entire SD card was completely maxed out. I was tired of taking photos but still got a few shots around here.
Experience the Art Walk
If you’ happen to be in ‘re in Miami on the Second Saturday of the month, don’t miss the Wynwood Art Walk. This monthly event is one of the best ways to experience the art and culture of Wynwood. Galleries, studios, and pop-up shops open their doors to the public, and the streets are filled with live performances and food vendors. It’s a unique experience that gives you a chance to see the streets of Wynwood come alive at night.
Have Lunch at the Best Wynwood Restaurants
Wynwood is home to some of the best restaurants in Miami. If you’re in the mood for more culinary adventures, Coyo Taco offers some of the best tacos in the area, while Veza Sur and Wynwood Brewing Company for craft beer. Cerveceria La Tropical is another great option for a drink if you’re in the area.
For dessert, grab some ice cream from J. Wakefield or a sweet treat from one of the local food halls. The Wynwood Walls Shop also has some great options for snacks and souvenirs.
Explore the Museum of Graffiti
If you’re enjoy graffiti art, the Museum of Graffiti is a must-visit. It offers a deep look at the history and evolution of graffiti as an art form. Visit The Wynwood Walls
No visit to Wynwood is complete without a stop at the Wynwood Walls. This outdoor museum is one of the best places to see large-scale street art by local and international artists. Founded in 2009 by the late Tony Goldman, the area has become a central hub for graffiti and street art in the United States. The Wynwood Walls now feature over 80,000 square feet of wall space covered in beautiful artworks from famous graffiti artists like Shepard Fairey and Lady Pink.
Take a Wynwood Food Tour
I fell in love with food tours in Marrakesh and I WISH I knew about Miami Culinary Tours before visiting. Not only do they have daily food and art tours in the Arts District, but they also offer tours in South Beach, Little Havana, and Miami City. I’ll definitely book next time.
Visit Nearby Attractions
While you’re in the area, don’t forget to explore other parts of Miami. South Beach and Miami Beach are just a short drive away, offering beautiful ocean views. Little Havana is another must-see, known for its rich Cuban culture and vibrant street life. For art lovers, the Miami Design District is also worth a visit.

I have always wanted to go to Miami. Looking at your beautiful pictures, I can see that I need to hurry up and make my vacation plans for 2018… destination… MIAMI BABY!!!
Miami is one of my fav cities to visit. At the top of my list, the food. Too bad you didn’t do the food tour, but you would have really loved it!! No doubt. And the street art is amazing.
