Press passes to the New York Times Travel Show were given for the purpose of this post.
One thing I love about the New York Times Travel Show is it showcases both domestic and international options for solo, family, girl’s trips, and couple’s travel. Valentine’s Day is a few days away and while it’s too late (and quite expensive) to plan a last-minute trip now, there’s nothing wrong with getting some inspiration for your next romantic getaway. Below are 10 romantic cities around the world to consider. Based on some booths visited at the New York Times Travel Show and members in travel groups, these are some favorites.
1. Niagara Falls, Canada
Niagara Falls is a great romantic getaway option for couples in the US and Canada. Couples can enjoy a helicopter tour above the falls, wine tasting in Niagara Wine Country, bike riding, shopping, and more.

2. Prague, Czech Republic

3. Venice, Italy

4. Paris, France
Much like Venice, and Prague, Paris is one of the most romantic cities in Europe. Couples can enjoy fine dining, take a couple’s photoshoot by the Eiffel Tower, and explore the museums.

5. Maui, Hawaii
6. Napa Valley, California

7. Santorini, Greece

8. Zanzibar, Tanzania

9. Bali, Indonesia
Bali is an overall great destination for solo travelers, families, girls trips, and couples. The island has many photo-worthy hot spots and it is affordable for couples seeking a romantic getaway on a budget.

10. New York, New York

Some honorable mentions were Montego Bay, Jamaica, Playa del Carmen, Mexico (which isn’t too far from Cancun), and the French Riviera. While New York City is home and I visited Niagara Falls with family, all of these cities provide some sort of relaxation, education, gastronomy, or adventure. Similar to group vacations, it is important to mix up activities to accommodate both of you.

Love all your choices, and still need to try couple of them – like Zanzibar. And, indeed, it is never too late to have a Romantic celebration…:)
